Trouble Ticket Customer Portal

Project Overview: Designed and implemented a new trouble ticket web portal with an interface to a fragile legacy accounting and trouble ticket system (3rd party).

Challenges: An extremely complex MS SQL server database as the back-end to a system had been hacked and updated so many times it was nearly incomprehensible - very limited knowledge about the system's structure.

Defined the requirements and wrote a detailed specification describing features and functionality.

Designed the portal to allow customers and agents to submit and monitor tickets against a specific Billing Telephone Number (BTN) or Working Telephone Number (WTN).

Implemented a windows service to notify customers as to ticket updates.

Technology: C# using Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2005 as the database backend.
